The Gift, features a colony of kāruhiruhi, pied shags (Phalacrocorax varius), with a pair in the foreground 'gifting a feather', a common thoughtful behavior exhibited between mating pairs.

The Gift was painted with Schmincke Horadum gouache on Arches watercolour paper, 77cm H X 57cm W (approx), 2019. From the group exhibition Toi Wāhine, presented by Green MP, Chloe Swarbrick, held at Parliament's Bowen House, 2019.
